I spent 5 days in Kansas last week and it was great! I went to attend the Student Leadership Conference put on by the American Meat Science Association, but that was only on Saturday, so I played tourist with my mom, who came with me for the other four days. For our first two days we took our rental car and toured around the Kansas country side. It was quite scenic very similar in comparison to the Canadian prairies. There was a lot of farm/crop land, some rolling hills, many quaint quiet towns along the way and some beautiful purple trees. We drove through the Flint Hills Scenic Byway where we viewed all of these things and even got to see a few cows!
